100% Oak Rybski® Bass Guitar
The custom bass guitar in this video is RYBSKI made of oak. Back in early 80′s Rybski took a lot of time to develop as best wood combinations as possible. Nobody at the time even tried to think of oak as a tonewood, probably because of traditions in?building musical instruments and quite frankly because oak being very difficult wood for precision shaping and milling! First tries were stunning, the tone, sustain, stability proved themselves immediately! Started as a body material very quickly become neck one to. Presenting very new tonal possibilities and totally different sound spectrum Rybski kept developing other electronic ideas which led to newer pickup configurations and preamp systems. This very bass was a perfectly timed because Wojtek Pilichowski was the strongest upcoming bass player in Poland and He was only in his late teens. Rybski already built many oak instruments and he also was ready for something extraordinary! Being in the need of great custom bass guitar Wojtek quickly found Rybski’s shop and ordered this oak 4 string. Soon Wojtek became bass star and recorded His “Wojciech Pilichowski” solo album setting the new standards for “chops”and sounds in this parts of world. This custom bass guitar is equipped with two big humbuckers and three tone controls, volume and blend, run with 9V active electronics. Currently Rybski is using even more oak and the reason is his access to more oak species variations and finding vintage boards (50 to 100 years old) that are presenting even more variations in density, rigidity, and even looks so oak saga is continuing even further! Rybski says that custom bass guitar is not only a tool or piece of art it is also an extension of the player, his soul and personality. Custom bass guitars should have a spirit and everything Rybski puts into building instruments come from this philosophy!
